Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Talyn Co (ABN 37 214 739 717), trading as Talyn Recruitment Group, is a specialist permanent-placement recruitment agency. We are committed to protecting the privacy of candidates, clients, and website visitors, and we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
A copy of the Australian Privacy Principles is available at oaic.gov.au.
1. About this policy
This policy applies to all personal information Talyn Co collects in connection with our recruitment services. It covers candidates, prospective candidates, clients, and website visitors.
2. What we collect
For candidates and prospective candidates, we collect:
- Name, email address, and phone number
- Work rights and visa status
- Salary expectations
- Your CV, and the details it contains or that we extract from it, such as your location, employment history, skills, qualifications, experience, and notice period
For client enquiries, we collect your name, company, work email, the role you’re hiring for, and anything you include in your message.
Technical data: we use limited technical information (such as your IP address) temporarily to keep our forms working and prevent abuse. We don’t store it as part of your record.
Sensitive information: your CV may contain sensitive information, such as health details or ethnic origin. Where it does, we use that information only to assess your suitability for roles, never for any discriminatory purpose.
If you don’t provide your information: if you choose not to provide your personal information, we may be unable to assess your suitability for roles or put you forward for specific positions.
3. How we collect it
We may collect your personal information:
- Through our website, when you submit an application or enquiry at talyn.com.au
- Directly from you, by phone, email, or in person
- Via a job board such as SEEK, if you apply to a role we’ve advertised
- Via referral, if a third party introduces you to us
We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used. IP addresses are anonymised and advertising features are turned off.
Our forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile. Cloudflare’s handling of the limited data involved is described in its Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
4. How we use it
We use your personal information to:
- Assess your suitability for roles we are recruiting for
- Match your profile to relevant opportunities, including roles not yet advertised
- Contact you about potential placements
- Present your profile to a prospective employer, where you’ve applied or agreed to be put forward (see Disclosure below)
- Maintain our candidate records for current and future opportunities
5. Disclosure to third parties
Prospective employers: we share your details with a hiring employer only for a role you’ve applied to, or agreed to be put forward for. We never present you to a client speculatively without your consent.
Service providers: we use technology platforms to run our recruitment operations, and our systems are hosted in Australia. Our email is provided by Google Workspace, so correspondence and applications (including CVs) are processed by Google and may be stored outside Australia. Where personal information is handled by an overseas provider, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is treated consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for marketing purposes unrelated to recruitment.
6. Automated processing
We use automated tools, including software that analyses the information in your CV, to help us assess applications. Drawing on the details in and extracted from your CV (such as your work history, skills, experience, location, and work rights), this software produces a job-fit score, a recommended routing for your application (for example shortlist, review, or no fit, which can include screening out applications that fall below a set threshold), and a ranking of shortlisted candidates for a role.
These outputs help us prioritise and review applications, but they are not the final word. A person can review and change them, and no candidate is put forward to a client, or declined to a client, without a person making that decision.
We carry out this processing on our own systems rather than through external AI providers, which keeps your information within our control. No online service is ever completely without risk, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and limit unnecessary exposure.
If you have questions about how automated processing is used in your application, contact us at privacy@talyn.com.au.
7. Keeping in touch
We may contact you about roles we believe match your profile. You can opt out of this contact at any time by emailing privacy@talyn.com.au with the subject line “Opt Out”. Opting out doesn’t affect any active application or placement already underway.
8. How long we keep it
We keep your personal information only for as long as it’s needed for the purposes described in this policy. When it’s no longer required, we delete or de-identify it. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see Your rights), and we’ll do so except where we’re required by law to keep it.
9. Keeping it secure
Your personal information is held securely, primarily on systems located in Australia. Some of it is handled by the overseas providers described in section 5 (for example, our email runs on Google Workspace), and where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure it is treated consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. Access is limited to authorised personnel.
Data breaches: if a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), in line with our obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
10. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date
- Ask us to delete your information, subject to any legal retention obligations
- Opt out of being considered for future roles at any time
To exercise any of these, email privacy@talyn.com.au. We’ll respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.
11. Complaints
If you believe we’ve handled your personal information in a way that’s inconsistent with the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us first at privacy@talyn.com.au. We’ll respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.
If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner:
- Website: oaic.gov.au
- Phone: 1300 363 992
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available at talyn.com.au/privacy.
